Manchester United Make £70m Bid for Former Man City Star Coveted by Amorim

According to recent reports, Manchester United have launched a substantial £70 million bid for Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, a former Manchester City academy player who has been impressing in the Premier League this season. United manager Ruben Amorim is said to be extremely eager to bring the talented England international to Old Trafford as part of his squad rebuild.

Rogers has been in excellent form for Villa this campaign, helping the club challenge for a top-four finish and reach the latter stages of the Champions League. The 22-year-old has notched 14 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young attackers in English football.

Despite United’s sizeable offer, Villa are reportedly reluctant to part ways with Rogers, viewing him as a key part of their long-term plans. The Midlands club are expected to resist any attempts to lure away their prized asset this summer.

Amorim has identified Rogers as a priority target to bolster United’s attacking options ahead of next season. The Portuguese coach is looking to add more firepower to a forward line that has struggled for consistency this term, with current striker Joshua Zirkzee showing improvement but still not producing the numbers required to challenge for major honors.

Former Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov recently praised Rogers as a “joy to watch” following an impressive Champions League hat-trick against Celtic earlier this year. “He looked like a mature player… like he is going to be a star,” Petrov commented.

It remains to be seen whether United’s opening bid will be enough to tempt Villa into selling, or if the Red Devils will need to increase their offer further to land one of Amorim’s top summer targets. The pursuit of Rogers looks set to be one of the most intriguing transfer sagas of the upcoming window.
