Manchester United Pursues PSG’s Nuno Mendes Amid Contract Talks Breakdown
Paris Saint-Germain and Nuno Mendes (22) were close to finalizing a contract extension after months of negotiations. However, recent reports suggest that discussions have come to a standstill due to significant interest from Manchester United.
Following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as manager, Manchester United has adopted a three-at-the-back formation, necessitating the use of wing-backs. With limited options in this position, the Premier League club has reportedly submitted an offer for Mendes and is actively pursuing his transfer to Old Trafford. It is expected that other clubs will also join the race for the player’s signature.
Mendes is reportedly receptive to Manchester United’s interest and is currently inclined to leave PSG. However, the Parisian club has not given up on extending the Portuguese international’s contract and is opposing his departure during the January transfer window.
