Manchester United’s £65k-per-week Player Set for Summer Exit

Manchester United’s £65k-per-week Player Set for Summer Exit

Manchester United is preparing to bid farewell to a £65,000-per-week player this summer, following criticism from new manager Ruben Amorim in his debut match.

United and Amorim Look Ahead After Recent Setback

Despite the possibility of salvaging their season through a Europa League triumph, the Red Devils have endured a disappointing campaign overall. Their recent 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League prompted Amorim to highlight the team’s numerous errors.

Amorim stated, “We made many mistakes, and Newcastle outperformed us in strength and skill. Conceding early in the second half was particularly damaging, and our subsequent errors facilitated their victory.”

He emphasized that the issues were team-wide rather than individual, noting that recurring mistakes in crucial moments were boosting opponents’ confidence and leading to goals.

Evans’ Departure Confirmed by Romano

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that both defender Jonny Evans and third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton are set to leave Manchester United when their contracts expire this summer.

Evans, 37, who rejoined United in 2023, has made 42 appearances across all competitions under Erik ten Hag and Amorim. The experienced center-back started in Amorim’s first game as United manager against Ipswich Town last November.

Following that match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Amorim criticized Evans’ performance, particularly his pressing and positioning. The manager noted the team’s overall hesitancy and lack of aggression, attributing some of these issues to the limited preparation time with the new tactical setup.

Evans’ impending departure, along with other expected exits, signals a significant overhaul at Old Trafford as the club looks to rebuild and improve their performance in the coming seasons.
