Manuel Neuer May Return to German National Team
According to reports, Bayern Munich’s veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer might be considering a return to the German national team. This possibility has emerged due to an unfortunate injury to Barcelona’s keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Sources suggest that the German Football Association (DFB) is exploring the option of bringing back the 38-year-old Neuer to the national squad. This consideration comes in light of ter Stegen’s knee surgery in September 2024, which has sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Neuer had previously announced his retirement from international football in August 2024. During his tenure with the German national team, he achieved remarkable success, including winning the 2014 World Cup and securing bronze medals at the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships.
The potential return of Neuer could provide a significant boost to the German team’s goalkeeping options, leveraging his extensive experience and skill set. However, official confirmation from both Neuer and the DFB is still pending.
