Olympique Marseille`s President Pablo Longoria has confirmed that Brazilian winger Luis Henrique will depart the club by the end of June. While Inter Milan has been in negotiations for the 23-year-old player, they are not the only team expressing interest.
“We are in discussions with several clubs, not just Inter,” Longoria stated in an interview. “Our goal is to complete Luis Henrique`s transfer before June 30, due to financial considerations and out of respect for our ownership. The introduction of the Club World Cup has significantly altered the contract landscape.”
Longoria added, “The transfer market is moving much earlier now. I`m pleased that Luis Henrique has garnered attention from numerous European clubs, as I had promised him this opportunity when he first joined us.”
Inter Milan, set to participate in the upcoming Club World Cup, will have an additional transfer window available at the end of next month. This event has also impacted the transfer strategies of other clubs, including Juventus, another Serie A team involved in the competition.
Reports suggest that Luis Henrique has already agreed to personal terms with Inter Milan. However, the Italian club is still negotiating with Marseille to reduce their €30 million asking price. A meeting between representatives from both clubs is expected to take place in the near future to further discuss the transfer.
While Inter Milan appears to be the frontrunner, other clubs have also shown interest in the talented winger. According to Italian sports daily Tuttosport, Juventus and several Premier League teams are also monitoring Luis Henrique`s situation.
As the transfer saga unfolds, it remains to be seen which club will ultimately secure Luis Henrique`s services for the upcoming season.
