Marseille Football Club Prepares for Long-Term Training in Italy’s Capital
Olympique de Marseille is contemplating spending the rest of the season away from their home base, with plans for an extended training camp in Rome. This move aims to distance the team from the current toxic atmosphere surrounding the club.
The decision to hold a prolonged training camp was not affected by the team’s recent 5-1 victory against Montpellier. Manager Roberto De Zerbi emphasized that this is not a punitive measure, but rather an opportunity for the team to focus and prepare for upcoming challenges.
De Zerbi believes that this time spent together in Rome could be career-changing for the players. The camp is expected to last at least two weeks but may continue until the end of the season in mid-May. To comply with league regulations, the team will return to France before matches to fulfill media obligations.
This strategic move demonstrates Marseille’s commitment to improving team performance and cohesion in a new environment, away from distractions at home.
