Marseille Sporting Director Medhi Benatia Addresses Luis Henrique’s Situation

In a recent interview, Olympique de Marseille’s sporting director Medhi Benatia discussed the current status of winger Luis Henrique. Benatia acknowledged the 23-year-old Brazilian’s popularity among other clubs but emphasized that Henrique needs to elevate his game significantly to achieve a successful career, whether at Marseille or another club.

Benatia revealed that he had a conversation with Henrique two weeks ago about his unsatisfactory performance. Despite describing Henrique as a positive and cheerful individual, Benatia stressed that the player must put in more effort to reach his full potential.

Several prominent clubs, including Bayern Munich, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United, have expressed interest in Henrique. However, Inter Milan appears to be the frontrunner, with reports suggesting that personal terms have already been agreed upon with the player.

Nevertheless, a significant gap of approximately €10 million remains between Inter Milan’s offer and Marseille’s valuation of Henrique. The Brazilian attacker has made 29 appearances for Marseille this season, scoring seven goals.

As the transfer negotiations continue, it remains to be seen whether Henrique will stay at Marseille or move to a new club to further his career.
