Marseille to Loan Young Talent Soumaïla Traoré to Versailles
Olympique de Marseille is set to loan their young Malian midfielder Soumaïla Traoré to FC Versailles, a team competing in the French third-tier Championnat National. The 20-year-old player, who joined Marseille in 2022 from Malian club Djoliba AC, is expected to continue his professional development during this six-month loan spell.
The loan agreement does not include an option for Versailles to extend the deal or purchase Traoré at the end of the season. This move demonstrates Marseille’s commitment to nurturing Traoré’s talent by providing him with an opportunity to gain valuable experience at a higher level of competition.
For the past two seasons, Traoré has been playing for Marseille’s reserve team in the fifth tier of French football. This loan to Versailles represents a significant step up in his career, allowing him to test his skills against more challenging opponents.
Traoré is scheduled to undergo a medical examination in the coming hours. If all goes according to plan, he will join Versailles for the remainder of the current campaign, aiming to make a positive impact and further develop his abilities on the pitch.
