Mbappe Overtakes Platini and Sets Historic Record for French Players

Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has achieved a new scoring record among French players, according to Stats Foot.

In the current season, the forward has scored 29 goals for Madrid across all competitions. He is the first French footballer to score 29 or more goals in his debut season in one of the top 4 leagues.

The previous record was held by Michel Platini, who scored 28 goals for Juventus in the 1982-83 season.

Mbappe joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer. Previously, the footballer played for PSG and Monaco.
