Scott McTominay and Giacomo Raspadori are advising Napoli to remain composed after their Serie A lead was cut to just one point ahead of Inter. The players emphasize that now is not the time for panic.
An unusual match unfolded at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with Napoli twice taking the lead through Lukaku and Raspadori, only to be equalized by Genoa. The visitors` goals came from headers, with Ahanor`s effort deflecting off Meret and Vasquez scoring late in the game.
Interestingly, McTominay provided assists for both Napoli goals, bringing his Serie A assist tally to four this season.
McTominay`s Impact on Napoli
“We need to stay calm; this isn`t the time to panic,” McTominay stated after receiving the Man of the Match award. “Genoa played well and scored two good goals. We need to analyze our mistakes.”
The Scottish midfielder, in his first Serie A season, expressed surprise at being in a tight title race. “It`s a challenging situation with two or three top teams in contention. We must stay focused and approach each game with determination,” he concluded.
Napoli`s Position in the Title Race
Following this result and Inter`s win against Torino, Napoli`s lead at the top of Serie A has been reduced to a single point.
Raspadori commented on the disappointing draw: “Our fans were incredible tonight. We had prepared well and played a good game. While a point is important as we`re still ahead, we aimed for a win.”
With two matches remaining, Napoli will face Parma and Cagliari, while Inter will play against Lazio and Como.
“We must maintain the attitude that brought us here,” Raspadori added. “Continuing with the same intensity and hard work we`ve shown all season is crucial.”
