According to Italian sources, AC Milan has reached an agreement with Swiss club Young Boys for the acquisition of right-back Zachary Athekame. This move follows the Rossoneri`s recent signing of Ardon Jashari.
Milan`s search for a new right-back intensified after they opted not to make Kyle Walker`s loan permanent and sold Emerson Royal to Flamengo earlier in the transfer window. Their pursuit led them to Switzerland, where they identified Athekame as a prime target.
Details of the Transfer
Reports suggest that Milan and Young Boys have agreed on a deal worth approximately €9 million for Athekame. This comes after an initial offer of €7 million was rejected by the Swiss club last week.
The acquisition of Athekame follows closely on the heels of Milan`s agreement for his compatriot Ardon Jashari, who is currently undergoing medical tests ahead of a €37 million transfer from Club Brugge.
Milan`s Active Transfer Window
These signings add to an already busy summer for manager Massimiliano Allegri and his team. Other notable additions include former Ballon d`Or winner Luka Modric, Italian international Samuele Ricci, ex-Brighton left-back Pervis Estupinan, and backup goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano.
With these reinforcements, Milan aims to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season and compete at the highest level both domestically and in European competitions.
