AC Milan comfortably defeated Lecce 3-0 in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 on Tuesday evening at the San Siro. The Rossoneri took advantage of an early red card to Lecce`s Jamil Siebert to control the match and advance to the quarterfinals.
Santiago Gimenez opened the scoring for Milan in the 20th minute, converting a low cross from Davide Bartesaghi. Christopher Nkunku doubled the lead early in the second half with an acrobatic finish from a corner. Substitute Christian Pulisic added a third goal shortly after coming on to seal the victory.
Milan dominated possession and created numerous chances throughout, hitting the woodwork three times in addition to their goals. The visitors were reduced to 10 men after just 18 minutes when Siebert was sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
New signings Nkunku and Koni De Winter made their full debuts for Milan, while youth product Francesco Camarda started up front for Lecce against his parent club. The Rossoneri will now face Lazio in the quarterfinals on December 3rd as they aim to lift the Coppa Italia trophy.
