Milan Evaluating Six Candidates for New Sporting Director Position
AC Milan is currently considering six potential candidates for the role of sporting director, according to reports. While Fabio Paratici remains the favorite, the club is thoroughly exploring its options before making a final decision.
The appointment is expected to be announced next month, as the club needs to allow sufficient time for the new director to develop a transfer strategy for the upcoming summer window.
Paratici, who previously worked with Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur, is widely considered the frontrunner for the position, especially following an extensive meeting with Milan director Giorgio Furlani.
Other candidates in contention include former Lazio executive Igli Tare and Atalanta’s Tony D’Amico. The club appears to be prioritizing individuals with Serie A experience.
Additional Candidates Under Consideration
The list of potential candidates also includes Thiago Scuro, currently serving as the director general at AS Monaco. Another option is Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt’s transfer chief, who recently made headlines for selling Omar Marmoush to Manchester City for €75 million, just 18 months after acquiring him as a free agent.
Perhaps the most surprising candidate is Kim Falkenberg, a 36-year-old who transitioned from player to director at Bayer Leverkusen with remarkable ease. Falkenberg was recently promoted to sporting director after serving as the club’s chief scout.
As Milan continues its evaluation process, the club aims to select a candidate who can best guide their transfer strategy and contribute to the team’s future success.
