AC Milan`s gamble on signing 40-year-old Luka Modric has paid off handsomely, with the Croatian midfielder quickly silencing critics and becoming a standout performer for the Rossoneri. Encouraged by Modric`s success, Milan is now considering a similar move for another veteran star. According to reports, the club`s sporting director Igli Tare recently met with Pini Zahavi, the agent of Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski, 37, continues to be a prolific goal-scorer in La Liga but will be out of contract at the end of the season. While his priority is to remain at Barcelona, with hopes of triggering a one-year extension option, his future depends on his performance and the club`s long-term plans.
The Polish forward also has lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, but if he chooses not to stay at Barcelona or accept other proposals, Milan could seize the opportunity to bring another experienced La Liga star to Serie A.
