Milan Mayor Sala: New San Siro Stadium Deal to be Finalized by Summer
The saga of the new San Siro stadium for AC Milan and Inter Milan continues to unfold. Milan’s Mayor, Giuseppe Sala, has provided a fresh update on the situation during a radio interview. He stated, “There hasn’t been any ultimatum, but since both parties, the municipality and the clubs, aim to conclude the stadium and area transfer operation before the summer holidays, we’re emphasizing that every week lost is one more to make up for.”
Sala further elaborated, “The transfer is complex, as it involves not just the stadium but surrounding areas as well. However, I want to reassure Milan residents that the volumetric rights will remain as planned, and we won’t be giving anything away for free. Additionally, the price is determined by the Revenue Agency. We’re now telling the clubs that these works will take years, so we need to focus on moving forward.”
This development marks another crucial step in the long-running process to build a new home for Milan’s two prestigious football clubs. The city administration and the clubs are working towards finalizing the deal before the summer, highlighting the urgency of the project.
