Milan Targeting Seasoned Midfielders Modric and Xhaka

AC Milan are reportedly setting their sights on veteran midfielders Luka Modric and Granit Xhaka as potential additions to their squad for the upcoming 2025-26 season. This move aligns with the preferences of their newly appointed coach, Max Allegri, who is known for valuing experience in his players.

Reports suggest that an agreement has been reached with Modric, who is set to sign a contract and undergo a medical examination next week, despite approaching his 40th birthday. This decision reflects Allegri`s strategy of prioritizing seasoned players over younger talents.

Modric and Xhaka: Bringing Wealth of Experience to Milan

In addition to Modric, Milan are also showing interest in Granit Xhaka, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen. The Swiss international, who will turn 33 in September, is under contract with the German club until June 2028. However, he could potentially be available for transfer if the right offer and project are presented.

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Milan are in the early stages of approaching Xhaka, although no direct contact has been made yet. The former Arsenal player has been a key figure for Bayer Leverkusen this season, making 49 appearances across all competitions and contributing two goals and seven assists.

These potential signings indicate Milan`s focus on bolstering their midfield with experienced players as they prepare for the challenges of the 2025-26 season under Allegri`s guidance.
