Monaco Explores Striker Options: Biereth and Arokodare in Focus
AS Monaco is actively seeking to strengthen their attacking options following an injury to their forward Folarin Balogun. The Ligue 1 club has set its sights on two promising strikers: Mika Biereth from SK Sturm Graz and Tolu Arokodare from Genk.
Mika Biereth, a 21-year-old Danish U21 international born in London, has caught Monaco’s attention with his impressive form. Since joining Sturm Graz from Arsenal for approximately €5 million last summer, Biereth has netted 14 goals in 25 appearances. This stellar performance has significantly increased his market value, with Sturm Graz now reportedly demanding €20 million for the young talent.
While personal terms have allegedly been agreed upon with Biereth, the substantial price tag set by Sturm Graz has prompted Monaco to explore alternative options. One such alternative is Tolu Arokodare, a 24-year-old Nigerian striker currently playing for Genk in the Belgian Pro League. Arokodare, who previously played for Amiens SC, has been in excellent form, scoring 14 goals in 22 matches across all competitions this season.
As Monaco continues to negotiate and assess their options, the club’s management faces the challenge of balancing financial considerations with the urgent need to reinforce their attacking lineup. The coming days will likely reveal which of these promising strikers, if either, will be joining the ranks at the Stade Louis II.
