Monaco’s Folarin Balogun Set for Return in Youth Friendly Against Brighton
American striker Folarin Balogun, 23, is poised to make his return to the pitch for AS Monaco in a youth friendly match against Brighton’s U23 squad on Tuesday. The game will take place at Monaco’s training ground in La Turbie.
Balogun has been sidelined since early December due to a recurring shoulder issue. The USMNT forward initially dislocated his shoulder during an away match against Stade Rennais in October. After a brief return in late November, he experienced discomfort in the affected shoulder and aggravated the injury in a game against Olympique de Marseille. This setback led to the decision to undergo surgery.
Monaco manager Adi Hütter had previously suggested that Balogun might be available for the upcoming Ligue 1 match against OGC Nice on Saturday. While it remains uncertain if that is still the target, Balogun’s participation in the youth friendly aims to help him regain match fitness and rhythm.
Other Monaco prospects, including George Ilenikhena, Mamadou Coulibaly, and Edan Diop, may also feature in the match against Brighton’s U23s.
