Nantes Weighing Options for Sorba Thomas After Loan Period
FC Nantes is still deliberating on whether to make Sorba Thomas’ loan move permanent. The 26-year-old Welsh player has had a mixed performance during his time with the French club. While he has made frequent appearances, including 23 matches across all competitions and 11 starts in Ligue 1, his offensive output has been limited to just one goal and two assists.
Thomas joined Nantes on loan from Huddersfield Town, an English League One team, at the beginning of the season. The loan agreement included a €4 million option for a permanent transfer. However, reports suggest that Nantes has not yet decided whether to exercise this option, leaving the possibility open.
As the season comes to a close, Thomas’ future remains uncertain. Another player, Meschack Elia, who arrived on loan from Young Boys BSC with a €3 million purchase option, is in a similar situation. The club has yet to make a decision on either player’s long-term status.
