During the press conference leading up to the match between Napoli and Fiorentina, Napoli coach Antonio Conte discussed the condition of his two Scottish midfielders, Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour.
Regarding McTominay, Conte stated: “McTominay has experienced a muscle overload and has been training less than the others for a couple of days. We still have 24 hours to make a decision, and we will try to find the best solution together with him.”
About Gilmour, Conte commented: “Gilmour played a fantastic game against Inter. I’ve made it clear to everyone that there are no guaranteed starting positions; whoever deserves to play will play. He performed well, and he will be in the lineup against Fiorentina. If he continues to perform well, he will also play in the subsequent match. Those who are left out will try to change my mind. There are 11 games remaining, and they are all like finals; there are no privileges.”
