Napoli Declines Galatasaray’s Bid for Osimhen
According to reports, Napoli has rejected a €65 million offer from Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen. The Turkish club made a permanent transfer bid for the Nigerian striker, who is currently on loan with them until the end of the season.
Osimhen’s loan deal with Galatasaray does not include an option to buy. Napoli is unwilling to sell the player for less than his €75 million release clause, which became active in January.
Interestingly, Galatasaray has a unique position in negotiations. Due to a €6 million compensation clause if Osimhen moves elsewhere mid-season, they could potentially sign him for €75 million this month. Other clubs would have to wait until summer to activate the same clause.
Osimhen’s release clause was originally set at €130 million but was reduced when he signed a new contract with Napoli before joining Galatasaray on loan. The current situation leaves Napoli in a strong position, able to demand the full release clause amount from any interested parties.
