Napoli Expresses Interest in Comuzzo, Dismisses Saint-Maximin Rumors
Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has addressed transfer speculation surrounding the club. Speaking before Napoli’s match against Roma, Manna confirmed the club’s interest in Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo, praising the young player’s potential. However, he emphasized that any deal would need to fit within the club’s financial parameters.
Regarding rumors about Fenerbahce winger Allan Saint-Maximin, Manna was clear: “Saint-Maximin is not our player at this time.” This statement appears to rule out an imminent move for the French attacker.
Napoli is looking to reinforce their squad after selling star player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia earlier in the transfer window. Manna acknowledged the challenges of the January market, stating, “We lost a great player. The January window is always difficult, but we’re doing what we can within our means.”
The club had previously been linked with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, but those talks seem to have cooled. Manna stressed the importance of focus and calm as Napoli aims to maintain their position at the top of Serie A, especially after rivals Inter dropped points in a draw with AC Milan.
“We need to concentrate on ourselves and prove we have the quality and personality to succeed,” Manna concluded. “Tonight’s match is all that matters right now.”
