Napoli Intensify Interest in Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao
Napoli have recently expressed interest in Feyenoord’s forward Igor Paixao, who has been attracting attention from various clubs due to his impressive performances for the Eredivisie side.
The Brazilian striker made a significant impact against Milan in their Champions League encounter in Rotterdam, scoring the decisive goal that helped Feyenoord secure a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Italian giants in the knockout phase play-off.
Paixao’s standout season includes nine goals and eleven assists in 25 Eredivisie matches, further cementing his rising status in European football.
Feyenoord Sets €30m Price Tag for Paixao
According to reports, Napoli and Atalanta have shown keen interest in the 24-year-old talent. Napoli has taken concrete steps by approaching Feyenoord to inquire about potential transfer terms for the upcoming summer window.
The Dutch club is reportedly demanding at least €30 million plus add-ons for Paixao. Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has taken note of this request, as Paixao remains a prime target to bolster the team’s attack following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s departure earlier this year.
In addition to Paixao, Napoli is also monitoring Yukinari Sugawara. The Japanese defender could potentially be available at a relatively low cost, given Southampton’s likely relegation from the Premier League.
