Napoli Leads Inter in Race to Sign Italy International Lorenzo Lucca
Several Serie A clubs are eyeing Udinese’s towering 24-year-old striker Lorenzo Lucca for a summer transfer, with Napoli reportedly ahead of Inter Milan in the chase. Here’s why Napoli has the upper hand:
Napoli’s Advantages in Lucca Pursuit
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis’ strong relationship with Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo gives the southern Italian club an edge. The two clubs have a history of successful transfers, including deals for players like Piotr Zielinski, Alex Meret, and Fabio Quagliarella.
Additionally, Lucca may have more playing opportunities at Napoli compared to Inter, who already boast Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez in their attacking lineup.
Valued at around €30 million, Lucca could be set for a move to a club competing in European competitions for the 2025-26 season.
Alternative Options
Napoli is also considering 21-year-old Parma striker Ange-Yoan Bonny as an alternative. Bonny is younger, potentially less expensive, and may be more willing to accept a rotation role in the squad.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the race for Lucca’s signature is heating up, with Napoli currently in pole position to land the promising Italian international.
