Napoli Shifts Focus to Adeyemi as Garnacho Deal Stalls
Napoli’s pursuit of Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has hit a snag, prompting the Italian club to revisit their interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi. This development comes as Napoli seeks to fill the void left by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s recent €70 million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite Garnacho being Napoli’s primary target, negotiations with Manchester United have reached an impasse. The latest discussions on Tuesday failed to bridge the gap between Napoli’s offer of €50-55 million and United’s €65 million valuation plus bonuses.
In response, Napoli has renewed contact with Adeyemi’s camp. Reports suggest that Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has been in touch with Adeyemi’s father to explore the possibility of a move. Borussia Dortmund is believed to value Adeyemi at around €40 million, potentially making him a more financially viable option for Napoli.
However, the situation at Dortmund is complicated by the recent dismissal of head coach Nuri Sahin, which could impact any potential transfer negotiations.
As the January transfer window progresses, Napoli remains active in their search for a new forward. The club is keeping options open, with Adeyemi emerging as a serious alternative should the Garnacho deal fail to materialize.
