Napoli’s Quest for Kvaratskhelia’s Successor: Werner’s Injury Throws a Wrench in the Plans
Napoli’s transfer plans have hit a snag. Timo Werner, recently linked with a move to De Laurentiis’s club, has suffered an injury that could sideline him for an undetermined period.
Currently on loan at Tottenham from RB Leipzig, the German forward is out of action and will remain so for some time. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that Werner has sustained a knee tendon injury, stating, “We’re awaiting the results of the scan.” This development could significantly impact Napoli’s transfer strategy.
The Italian club is actively seeking a replacement for Kvaratskhelia, who appears to be heading to Paris Saint-Germain. Werner was among the names on Napoli’s shortlist. However, with this injury setback, the club may need to shift their focus to other targets. Besides Werner, Napoli is also considering players such as Garnacho, Ben Seghir, Adeyemi, and Chiesa as potential replacements for the outgoing Georgian star.
