Ndour Reflects on Career Path and New Chapter at Fiorentina
In a recent interview, young midfielder Cher Ndour shared insights into his football journey. Reflecting on his time at Benfica, Ndour said, “At 16, leaving home was challenging, but it was the perfect opportunity for growth. I embraced a new country and language, quickly adapting to Portuguese life.”
Discussing his move to PSG, Ndour recalled, “The transfer was finalized during the U19 Euros, sparking a mix of emotions. Gianluigi Donnarumma played a crucial role in my integration, introducing me to everyone and offering constant encouragement. He always reminded me to be patient, assuring me that my time would come.”
On choosing Fiorentina, Ndour explained, “After five years abroad, I felt drawn back to Italy. Florence offers the ideal environment for my development. The team’s youthful energy and long-term vision align perfectly with my goals. For the first time, I’m in a locker room where I instantly understand the language!”
Ndour expressed optimism about Fiorentina’s prospects, stating, “We have the potential to aim for European competition. Our recent victories have boosted our confidence significantly. The team’s camaraderie, especially with players like Kean, Gudmundsson, and the spirited Dodô, has made me feel at home.”
