New Lazio Midfielder Reda Belahyane Introduces Himself

Lazio’s latest signing, Reda Belahyane, has given his first interview since joining the club. The young midfielder, born in 2004, shared his thoughts ahead of his official presentation scheduled for Thursday.

On joining Lazio: “I’m thrilled to be a Lazio player. This is a prestigious club with a rich history and talented players. I’m committed to giving my all in every match, playing at my best, and always respecting the jersey.”

On familiar faces: “I worked with Coach Baroni at Verona, and he played a crucial role in my Serie A debut. I’m excited to continue learning from him. I also know Noslin from Verona – he’s a kind person and a true professional. I met the French players in the squad during my first training session. Everyone has been welcoming, which has helped me feel at home quickly.”

On his playing style: “I consider myself a technical midfielder who’s comfortable under pressure and eager to help the team. I’m aggressive on the field and always try to win back possession. I also enjoy providing assists to the forwards and hope to create many scoring opportunities.”

On his inspirations: “Pirlo and Kanté have always been my idols. Pirlo is a legend known to all, and I’ve followed his career closely. Kanté is another legend and an exceptional professional both on and off the pitch. I admire his all-out effort in every game, which is exactly what I aim to do.”

On wearing number 21: “I’m aware of the significance of the number 21 in Lazio’s history, as it belonged to club legend Milinkovic-Savic. I have great respect for Sergej and hope to honor this number. I’ve always liked 21, even during my time at Nice.”
