Neymar Makes Emotional Return to Santos FC
Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar has officially returned to his boyhood club Santos FC. The 31-year-old forward announced his signing in a heartfelt video shared on social media, just hours after terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
In the video, Neymar expressed his excitement about coming home:
“It feels like I’m going back in time. I’m here with friends and family who helped me write this because I couldn’t wait until tomorrow. I’m signing with Santos. I want to thank fans worldwide who have long wished for this moment to come true.”
Neymar acknowledged his time in Saudi Arabia, thanking the country for its warm reception. However, he explained that a serious injury prevented him from performing as he had hoped. The Brazilian star emphasized his need to return to playing regularly, stating that only Santos could provide the support necessary for his upcoming challenges.
For Santos, Neymar’s return is a major boost as the club prepares for its comeback to Brazil’s top division. Recently promoted to Série A, Santos has secured one of the world’s most talented players to lead their campaign.
Neymar’s primary goal is to regain his top form in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. He confirmed this may be his final opportunity to compete in the tournament, saying, “I know it’s my last World Cup, my last chance. I’ll do everything possible.”
During his first stint with Santos from 2009 to 2013, Neymar scored 136 goals and provided 64 assists in 225 appearances. He also helped the club secure six titles, including the prestigious Copa Libertadores in 2011.
As Neymar begins this new chapter in his career, fans and observers alike will be watching closely to see if he can recapture the magic of his early years at Santos and lead the club to new heights.
