Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has declined an incredibly lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, opting to pursue his career in Europe instead. The Napoli striker was presented with a contract worth €30 million per year, but ultimately decided against the move.
Al-Hilal had reportedly agreed to meet Osimhen`s €75 million release clause, which is valid for clubs outside of Italy. The Saudi club, now managed by former Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi, was eager to secure Osimhen`s services before the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in June.
Despite the tempting financial package, Osimhen has expressed his desire to continue playing in European leagues. This decision comes after a successful loan spell at Turkish club Galatasaray, where he scored an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions during the 2024-25 season.
Napoli is expected to sell Osimhen during the summer transfer window. It remains to be seen whether Galatasaray will attempt to make his loan deal permanent or if other European clubs will enter the race for his signature.
The 26-year-old striker`s rejection of Al-Hilal`s offer is considered final, potentially signaling the end of Saudi interest in the player. As the transfer window approaches, football fans and analysts will be closely watching to see where Osimhen`s next move takes him in his promising career.
