Premier League club Nottingham Forest have made an official bid for Bologna`s Swiss winger Dan Ndoye, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. This move puts them in direct competition with Napoli, who have identified Ndoye as their primary target for the attacking winger position.
Romano reports that Ndoye has given his approval for a potential transfer to Forest, leaving the final decision in Bologna`s hands as they negotiate the transfer fee. This development comes despite Bologna`s sporting director Marco Di Vaio recently stating that the club had not received any formal offers for Ndoye and was in talks to extend his contract.
The 24-year-old Swiss international had an impressive 2024/25 season with Bologna, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists in 30 Serie A appearances. He also etched his name in Bologna`s history by scoring the winning goal in their Coppa Italia triumph over AC Milan.
Ndoye`s performances have attracted attention from several clubs, with Napoli previously considered frontrunners for his signature. The Partenopei have already strengthened their attacking options with the acquisition of Noa Lang, but still view Ndoye as a key target.
As the transfer saga unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Nottingham Forest can outmaneuver Napoli and secure Ndoye`s services, or if Bologna will manage to retain their prized asset with a new contract.
