Nottingham Forest has reportedly started discussions regarding a potential summer acquisition of a highly-rated striker who is expected to join the Premier League in the upcoming transfer window.
Forest Aiming for Top European Spots
Despite some recent inconsistent results, Nottingham Forest revitalized their campaign with a significant victory yesterday.
They defeated Manchester City 1-0 at home, with a decisive goal securing a four-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s team and strengthening their position in the top spots with ten games remaining in the season.
This success positions Nuno Espirito Santo’s team favorably to attract top talent during the summer transfer period. Recent reports indicate they have initiated contact to sign a sought-after striker.

According to reports, Nottingham Forest has begun talks with representatives of AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, who is anticipated to leave Serie A and return to the Premier League after this season.
Neither Roma nor AC Milan, where Abraham is currently on loan, are expected to retain him beyond the summer. This makes a move back to England likely, with several clubs expressing interest in a potential deal.
Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, and West Ham United are also reported to have started discussions regarding a summer transfer. This suggests strong competition for the English striker’s signature in the upcoming window.
The 27-year-old is believed to be open to returning to England and prefers joining a high-level club. This preference could benefit Forest in their pursuit, particularly if they secure qualification for a major European competition.
Abraham’s Premier League and International Credentials
Football analysts have previously praised Abraham as “outstanding,” highlighting his performances with Roma and his prior successful stint in the Premier League, notably in the 2019/20 season.
During that season, playing for Chelsea, Abraham scored 15 league goals before his £34 million transfer to Roma in 2021. He has shown glimpses of his potential in Italy, especially during his first season.
Abraham’s most impressive spell arguably came in the 2021/22 season, where he scored 17 Serie A goals and an additional nine goals in the Conference League, contributing significantly to Roma’s victory in the tournament.
A potential concern might be that neither Milan nor Roma seem inclined to keep him after this summer, possibly due to a recent dip in his goal-scoring form, with only two league goals this season.
However, if Abraham becomes available for a reduced transfer fee, pursuing his signature this summer could be a worthwhile move, considering his proven track record at a high level in both England and Italy.
