OGC Nice Coach Haise: Giving Our All Against PSG May Not Be Enough
Despite Paris Saint-Germain’s recent focus on their upcoming Champions League semi-final against Arsenal, OGC Nice manager Franck Haise remains cautious about their upcoming match. While PSG has already clinched the Ligue 1 title and shown signs of distraction in recent games, Haise believes this doesn’t necessarily make it an opportune time to face the French champions.
At a press conference, Haise expressed uncertainty about the timing of the match, stating, “I’m not convinced it’s an ideal moment to play them. Observing their recent performances, it hasn’t been favorable for any opponent. We must focus on our strengths, but we also recognize that even if we perform at our absolute best against PSG, it may not be sufficient.”
Haise went on to commend PSG’s improvements since their last encounter, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He noted enhancements in their collective play, tactical setup, ball circulation, pressing, and counter-pressing strategies. “They’ve progressed in every aspect compared to the beginning of the season,” Haise remarked.
As PSG prepares for their crucial Champions League match against Arsenal, it remains unclear whether manager Luis Enrique will rotate his squad for Friday’s game against Nice. Meanwhile, OGC Nice continues their pursuit of a Champions League qualification spot, currently sitting in fifth place, just two points behind fourth-placed Lille OSC.
