Okafor’s AC Milan Future Uncertain After Collapsed RB Leipzig Transfer

Noah Okafor’s status at AC Milan is in jeopardy after his proposed loan move to RB Leipzig fell through. The Swiss forward may find himself left out of both Milan’s Serie A and Champions League squads as the club looks to bring in new players during the January transfer window.

Okafor had traveled to Germany for a medical ahead of a potential loan with a €25 million purchase option. However, Leipzig canceled the deal upon discovering he would not be immediately available to play. The 23-year-old then made a swift return to Italy.

With Milan actively pursuing new signings like Kyle Walker from Manchester City and attacking options such as Chelsea’s Joao Felix or Borussia Dortmund’s Gio Reyna, space needs to be created in their 25-man Serie A squad. The Champions League roster also requires adjustments to accommodate new arrivals.

According to Italian media reports, Okafor is among the leading candidates to be dropped from Milan’s squads, along with striker Luka Jovic. There’s also speculation that defender Fikayo Tomori could be sold or loaned to Juventus, which would free up an additional spot.

The situation leaves Okafor’s future at the San Siro hanging in the balance, just months after joining the club. Milan must make difficult decisions regarding their squad composition as they aim to strengthen for the second half of the season.
