Palladino: Fiorentina Face Tough Test Against Milan

Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino expressed gratitude for the team’s recent success but remained cautious about their upcoming match against Milan at San Siro. Despite Fiorentina’s strong form and Milan’s recent struggles, Palladino emphasized the need for humility and hard work.

“We’ve worked diligently to maintain our values,” Palladino stated during a press conference. “I’m thankful to the club and players for helping us overcome a challenging period in January and February. Through perseverance and the right mindset, we’ve improved our performance.”

Fiorentina has climbed the Serie A standings with three wins in their last four matches, including victories over Juventus and Atalanta. They now sit four points ahead of Milan, who are currently in ninth place.

Palladino Downplays Favorite Status

When asked if Fiorentina were favorites going into the match at San Siro, Palladino disagreed: “I don’t believe that’s the case. We need to maintain our balance and approach the game against Milan with great humility. They’re a strong team built for top positions in the table.”

Palladino also provided updates on player fitness, noting that Andrea Colpani is nearing recovery and will return to training next week. However, Robin Gosens is still experiencing knee pain, though the coach hopes he’ll be ready for Saturday’s match.

Regarding recent transfers, Palladino wished Riccardo Sottil well at Milan and expressed confidence in Yacine Adli, who will face his parent club. The coach also mentioned Nicolò Zaniolo, praising his attitude and stating that he’s waiting for the right moment to utilize him fully.

As Fiorentina prepares for this crucial match, Palladino’s focus remains on the present, emphasizing the importance of continued hard work and maintaining the team’s recent positive momentum.
