Parma is holding firm on their €40 million valuation for young defender Giovanni Leoni, despite growing interest from top clubs including Inter, AC Milan, and Premier League side Bournemouth.
The 18-year-old talent made a significant impact last season, featuring in 17 Serie A matches, 14 of which were starts, and even scoring once. Parma`s management is confident that Leoni`s value will increase substantially as he gains more top-level experience.
Reports suggest that Parma is unwilling to negotiate below the €40 million mark, even if the deal structure includes €35 million upfront with €5 million in bonuses. The club has already rejected a €25 million offer plus €5 million in add-ons from Bournemouth.
While Inter and AC Milan have shown the strongest interest, they are hesitant to meet such a high price for a relatively unproven player. Complicating matters further, Parma must consider that they owe Leoni`s former club, Sampdoria, 10% of any future transfer fee.
Despite the pressure from interested clubs, Parma remains steadfast in their valuation, believing that Leoni represents a significant asset for both the club and Italian football as a whole.
