Italian media outlets have confirmed that Roma`s star forward Paulo Dybala will be absent from the upcoming Derby della Capitale against city rivals Lazio. The Argentine striker picked up a minor injury during Roma`s recent 1-0 defeat to Torino.
Thigh Strain Keeps Dybala Out of Derby
Following the Torino match, Roma`s manager initially downplayed concerns about Dybala`s condition, describing it as a “minor issue”. However, subsequent reports from reputable sources like Sky Sport Italia have revealed that the player has suffered a low-grade muscular strain in his thigh.
This injury is expected to prevent Dybala from participating in the highly anticipated Roma-Lazio derby scheduled for next weekend. The news comes as a blow to Roma, as Dybala had just made his first start of the season against Torino after gradually building up his fitness with substitute appearances in the opening two fixtures against Bologna and Pisa.
Unfortunately for Roma and their supporters, Dybala was unable to complete the full 90 minutes in his first start of the 2025-26 campaign. This setback now means he will miss out on the crucial derby match, depriving the team of his talents in a key fixture.
