Penalty correctly awarded against Real Madrid in match against Osasuna

In the 55th minute of the La Liga match between Osasuna and Real Madrid, referee José Luis Munuera Montero initially made an error by not awarding a penalty to the home team. The incident occurred in Real Madrid’s penalty area when Eduardo Camavinga recklessly fouled Ante Budimir, striking his opponent’s shin with his studs while the ball was in play.

The referee’s mistake was corrected with the help of VAR. After reviewing video replays on the pitchside monitor, Munuera Montero reversed his original decision a few minutes later. He awarded an 11-meter penalty kick to Osasuna and issued a yellow card to the Real Madrid player.

This penalty decision came after an earlier controversial call in the match. The use of VAR technology proved crucial in ensuring the correct outcome was reached in this important moment of the game between Osasuna and Real Madrid.
