Pietro Lo Monaco Slams AC Milan’s Leadership and Player Antics

In a recent interview, former football executive Pietro Lo Monaco expressed strong disapproval of AC Milan’s management and player behavior. He criticized the appointment of Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a senior advisor, arguing that transitioning from player to executive overnight shows disrespect for football.

Lo Monaco emphasized the importance of experience and knowledge in running a major football club, stating, “You can’t become a director overnight. To be a director, you need to understand the field and have the right experience to manage things. If you invent it, it means you don’t respect football.”

He also pointed out several instances of what he considers poor management at AC Milan. Lo Monaco mentioned the club allowing Conceição to attend a funeral before a crucial Champions League match, players dyeing their hair pink and making scenes, and a player attending an official club presentation in a skirt.

Lo Monaco stressed the need for proper leadership, saying, “The club sets the rules. It’s the director’s job to enforce rules, ensure players feel proud to belong to a great club, and guide them on the right path.”

His comments highlight the importance of strong, experienced leadership in maintaining discipline and respect within top-tier football clubs like AC Milan.
