As Juventus and Roma prepare to face each other, former midfielder Miralem Pjanic has expressed his views on the recent decisions made by both clubs. He believes Juventus has strayed from its core identity, while Roma has made several significant errors in judgment.

Pjanic stated, “At present, Roma appears to have more stability. Juventus changed their manager due to underwhelming results. During my time at the club, we consistently competed for the Serie A title. Despite substantial investments in player acquisitions, something has gone awry.”

He continued, “Some choices were inconsistent with Juventus’ DNA. However, they’ve now brought in Tudor, who is familiar with the club’s culture and inner workings. He has already demonstrated his competence, and a change was necessary given the recent subpar performances.”

Regarding Roma, Pjanic was critical of their decision to dismiss Daniele De Rossi. “Terminating De Rossi’s contract was premature and shocked the squad. It was an illogical move so early in the season. De Rossi has the potential to become an excellent manager, and it’s unfortunate he was let go so quickly.”

Pjanic praised Claudio Ranieri’s impact at Roma: “Ranieri has successfully steered the team back on course. He understands the club, has extensive experience, and is adored by the fans. Roma’s recent positive results under his guidance have showcased the team’s true potential.”

When asked which team could benefit more from a player of his style, Pjanic chose Juventus. “Juventus needs a midfielder who can provide balance, dictate the tempo, and unlock the team’s full potential. The midfield is crucial for any top team, acting as both the engine and the architect.”
