Postecoglou Confident in Tel’s Future with Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has shared his thoughts on the club’s recent loan acquisition of Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel. The Australian coach expressed confidence in the young French forward’s potential to secure a permanent place in the Spurs squad.
“Tel will become a Tottenham player [on a permanent basis],” Postecoglou stated. “I didn’t bring him here for just six months. I believe that during this time, he will demonstrate to everyone that he’s ready to be a Tottenham player,” the manager added, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old French talent has joined Tottenham on a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option for the North London club to make the transfer permanent. During his time with Bayern Munich, Tel made 83 appearances across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 7 assists.
Postecoglou’s comments suggest that Tottenham view Tel as a long-term investment and are keen to integrate him into their plans beyond the initial loan period. The coming months will be crucial for the young striker to prove his worth and potentially secure a permanent move to the Premier League side.
