Several Italian clubs faced English teams in pre-season friendlies on Saturday, with mixed results:
Milan 1-1 Leeds United
AC Milan drew 1-1 with Leeds United in Dublin. New signing Ardon Jashari made his Milan debut after his €37m move from Club Brugge. Santiago Gimenez opened the scoring for Milan before Anton Stach equalized for Leeds in the second half.
Manchester United 1-1 Fiorentina
Fiorentina held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Simon Sohm gave Fiorentina the lead before United equalized through a Robin Gosens own goal. United won a post-match penalty shootout 5-4.
Former United goalkeeper David De Gea, now with Fiorentina, was honored before the match for his 545 appearances for the club.
Everton 0-1 Roma
Roma claimed a 1-0 victory over Everton at the latter`s new stadium. Matias Soule scored the only goal with a curling effort in the second half. The Roma delegation also paid tribute to the late Diogo Jota and Andre Silva at nearby Anfield.
