Prisma Investigation: Capital Gains Trial Moves Forward as Judge Denies Defendants’ Motions
The preliminary hearing judge in Rome, Anna Maria Gavoni, has rejected the request from Juventus’ legal team and its former executives under investigation in the Prisma case to dismiss the indictment due to two procedural errors. As a result, the trial will proceed.
The judge, agreeing with the Rome Prosecutor’s Office, has denied all objections raised by the defendants’ lawyers. This includes former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, ex-vice president Pavel Nedved, former CEO Maurizio Arrivabene, and former sporting director Fabio Paratici. The judge declared the request for a probative incident inadmissible, deemed the question of constitutional legitimacy manifestly unfounded, and rejected claims of nullity regarding the indictment request.
The trial will continue, with the next hearing scheduled for May 19th. This session will include discussions from the prosecution and civil parties, as well as interrogations of some of the defendants.
