Paris Saint-Germain directors were visibly angered and pursued Italian referee Davide Massa into the tunnel following a Champions League match against Liverpool filled with contentious moments in the first half.
Massa was the head official for the first leg of the Round of 16 game at Parc des Princes, with Aleandro Di Paolo serving as the VAR assistant.
The Italian officials were kept busy during a chaotic first half, managing numerous questionable and confusing incidents, as PSG controlled the game but failed to score.
This frustration was evident, especially from sporting director Luis Campos, who was filmed shouting at Massa as they headed to the tunnel at halftime.
Former Napoli striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored a beautiful curling goal, but VAR ruled it offside.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker also made several important saves. However, the most controversial moment for PSG was when Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool risked a red card for a challenge from behind on Bradley Barcola.

The incident occurred right on the edge of the penalty area. Despite VAR reviewing the play, Massa was not asked to conduct an on-field review.
Many football experts believe this was a clear error that warranted a VAR review and a potential red card.
This isn’t the first instance where Massa has faced criticism for not sending a player off in a game.
