PSG eyeing shock January swoop for Wolves’ Brazilian attacker

According to reports, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating a surprise January move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian attacker has been in fine form for Wolves this season, most recently starring in their 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Boxing Day. Cunha opened the scoring and provided an assist as new manager Vitor Pereira secured a dream home debut.

PSG manager Luis Enrique is said to be an admirer of Cunha’s versatility in attack. The player’s agent also has connections with the Parisian club, which could facilitate a potential deal.

However, losing Cunha midway through the season would be a major blow for Wolves in their fight against relegation. The 25-year-old has become a key figure at Molineux since joining from Atletico Madrid.

Pereira recently praised Cunha as a “special player” capable of making the difference. Against United, he showcased his quality with a goal, assist, four successful dribbles and 13 ground duels won.

While PSG’s interest is flattering, Wolves will be desperate to keep hold of Cunha as they look to climb away from the relegation zone. The Brazilian’s future could be one of the key transfer sagas to watch in January.
