PSG’s Désiré Doué Shines with Spectacular Goal in Champions League Clash
In a thrilling Champions League quarter-final match, Paris Saint-Germain’s young talent Désiré Doué played a pivotal role in securing a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa at the Parc des Princes. The 19-year-old midfielder’s stunning goal helped turn the tide for PSG after briefly falling behind.
Despite dominating the first half, PSG found themselves trailing when Morgan Rogers unexpectedly scored for Villa. However, Doué quickly equalized with a magnificent curling shot from outside the box, leaving Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez helpless.
Speaking about his goal, Doué revealed, “Initially, I intended to cross, but seeing limited options, I decided to shoot instead. Fortunately, it found the back of the net. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time here at PSG.”
The French side then took the lead early in the second half with a spectacular goal from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. When asked about the best goal of the evening, Doué playfully claimed, “It’s mine, of course!”
Looking ahead to the second leg in Birmingham, Doué emphasized the team’s focus: “We’re aware there’s still another match to play. We’ll approach it with the same determination and aim to secure another victory.”
With this impressive win, PSG has gained a significant advantage in the quarter-final tie, setting the stage for an exciting return leg at Villa Park next Tuesday.
