Paris Saint-Germain made a significant investment in Randal Kolo Muani, acquiring him for €95 million in the summer of 2023. However, the move did not pan out as hoped for either the club or the player.
This high-profile transfer followed an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt. Joining Frankfurt from FC Nantes without a transfer fee, the French player scored 26 goals and provided 16 assists in 50 games for the Bundesliga team.
However, Kolo Muani could not reproduce that level of performance for PSG, managing only 11 goals and seven assists in 54 appearances. In a candid interview with Repubblica, he discussed his disappointing time with Les Parisiens.
“Being a French player in Paris, with a €90m price tag, brings immense pressure, and not everyone can cope with it. I couldn’t manage it. I had opportunities, but I failed to capitalize on them. It’s disappointing, but it’s football, and I have no regrets,” Kolo Muani stated.
Since his loan move from PSG in January, the French international is showing signs of his previous form. He has scored five goals in nine appearances for Juventus. His future is still uncertain, as Juventus secured him on a straight loan without an option to buy, although reports suggest they are open to discussing a permanent deal. A decision regarding a long-term transfer is expected in the summer.
