Ranieri Confirms Soulé Will Stay at Roma, Open to Pellegrini Offers
AS Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has provided clarity on the club’s transfer plans, affirming that Matias Soulé will remain with the team while suggesting openness to potential offers for Lorenzo Pellegrini.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Roma’s upcoming fixture against Genoa, Ranieri addressed speculation surrounding several players. He expressed strong confidence in Soulé’s potential, stating, “I firmly believe in this young talent and see him as Roma’s future. He’s making progress in his decision-making on the ball. He will definitely stay with us as I have faith in his abilities, and he’ll have opportunities to prove himself.”
Regarding captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, Ranieri took a more measured stance: “While I don’t anticipate his departure, if another club expresses interest and he wishes to leave, we would consider our options. However, I don’t believe he desires to exit the club.”
The manager also touched on Roma’s pursuit of defensive reinforcements, noting, “We’re seeking a versatile wing-back capable of playing in both three and four-man defensive systems, adept at both attacking and defending on either flank.”
Ranieri concluded with positive news about Bryan Cristante’s recovery, indicating the midfielder could return to action as early as next week following successful medical assessments and a resumption of training.
As Roma prepares to host Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico, these transfer updates provide insight into the club’s strategic direction for the remainder of the season.
