Raúl de Tomás Poised for Imminent Return to Football

After several months away from the pitch, Raúl de Tomás is finally getting back to his normal routine with Rayo Vallecano. The forward has resumed training following a health issue that kept him sidelined for the past three months. His brother recently spoke publicly about the lengthy absence and shed light on de Tomás’ short-term future.

“Playing? Sooner than you think, you’ll see,” said Rubén de Tomás, the player’s brother, in an interview with Radio Marca. He elaborated on Raúl’s situation over the past few months: “We’ve been through a tough season; it’s been a learning experience. He needed a break to reassess certain things. When he feels ready, he’ll speak out. Each day he’s getting stronger and happier – that’s what matters to all of us.”

Rubén explained his brother’s reasons for maintaining silence for so long: “Everyone needs their own time. My brother feels he doesn’t need to make statements at the moment. There have been many hurtful rumors, which shows people don’t know what’s really happening in our family.”

Raúl de Tomás himself has only spoken publicly once since his reappearance in February. He told OneToroTV: “It’s been a challenging period for me these past two months, but sometimes you need a pause to put things in perspective and feel good. It’s been very beneficial for me.”

The striker is going through one of the most difficult seasons of his career, having not yet debuted in the current La Liga season due to various sporting and personal circumstances. After a prolonged absence that began in December, de Tomás has gradually been seen around Rayo Vallecano’s training facilities. Now, he has fully rejoined group training sessions, and his return to competitive action appears to be imminent.
