Real Madrid Proposes £34m Plus “Exceptional” Player to Chelsea for Fernandez
Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly readying a combination cash-and-player offer for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández this summer. According to sources, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is prepared to send a promising young talent to Stamford Bridge along with a substantial monetary sum.
Chelsea May Seek Attacking Midfield Reinforcement
With Christopher Nkunku, João Félix, and Carney Chukwuemeka likely to depart Chelsea via sale or loan when the transfer window opens, Enzo Maresca’s squad could be in the market for a new attacking midfielder. Reliable journalist Simon Phillips notes that without these players, Chelsea would be left with only Cole Palmer as an option in that role.
This potential shortage even led Chelsea to internally discuss re-signing Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave Manchester City as a free agent in July. However, recent reports suggest Chelsea has cooled their interest in a free transfer for De Bruyne, despite their need for experienced creators in midfield.
Real Madrid Prepares £34m Plus Arda Güler Offer for Enzo Fernández
Spanish media reports that Real Madrid is targeting Chelsea’s star midfielder Fernández and is ready to propose a part-exchange deal involving Turkish sensation Arda Güler. The offer reportedly includes Güler plus £34 million for Fernandez.
While Güler, 20, has been used sparingly by Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, he has impressed when given opportunities, scoring four goals and providing seven assists mostly as a substitute. The former Fenerbahce prodigy is highly regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young talents.
José Mourinho praised Güler’s potential, stating: “Arda is showing great personality and exceptional quality. To play at that club, personality is crucial. Players must internalize that they are good enough to play there. They can’t be afraid.”
This type of young, high-potential signing aligns with Chelsea’s recent transfer strategy. However, manager Maresca has also emphasized the need for more experienced players to balance the squad.
